Singer Rashid Khan: Classical singer Ustad Rashid Khan was very famous in the world of music. Now he is no more among us. He was quite famous because of the song ‘Aaoge Jab Tum O Sajana’.

Apart from this, he has sung many Bollywood songs. He was battling cancer for the last few days. He had prostate cancer. Apart from this, he also suffered a brain stroke. He was undergoing treatment for a long time.

Singer Rashid Khan Biography

Singer Rashid Khan was born on 1 July 1968 in Sahaswan, Badayun, Uttar Pradesh. Rashid Khan has been interested in music since his childhood. at the age of 11, he started his music journey.

he got his initial training from his maternal grandfather ustad nissar Hussain Khan. His uncle recognized his talent when his uncle first brought Ustad Rashid Khan to Mumbai. After that, he came to Kolkata and joined the ITC Music Research Academy there.

Not only this, but the veteran classical music musician Pandit Bhimsen Joshi also praised him.

He has contributed a lot to the world of music. Due to this, he has also been honored with Padma Shri and Padvibhushan. Not only this, he was also given the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 2006.

Singer Rashid Khan: Death Cause

Famous classical music singer Rashid Khan is no more with us. He breathed his last on 9 January 2024 in a private hospital in Eastern Bypass, Kolkata. His age was 55 years. He suffered a brain stroke on 21 November.

Due to this, he was immediately admitted to the hospital. Ustad Rashid Khan has also suffering from prostate cancer for the last several days. 

The infection had spread rapidly throughout his body and due to this, his health had become very critical. And he was on oxygen support for some days.

But due to this, he died tragically. As soon as the news of his demise came, there was a wave of mourning in the music world. Some people have also given tribute to him through social media.

Ustad Rashid Khan’s father’s name is Hamid Raza Khan. Singer Rashid Khan married Soma Khan. He has supported her very well in her musical journey. The couple has three children Suha, Shaona, and Armaan.

She stood shoulder to shoulder with him in his personal and professional journey. Ustad Rashid Khan has kept Hindustani classical music at a very high level. Seeing his contribution to music, the Bengal government also honored him with Banga Vibhushan.
